ART AS THERAPY

Dance story is an ensemble of Playback Theatre for dancers and people who use their movement as an expression. Our theatrical Playback language is moving to personal stories in improvisation without words. In this workshop we will experience and learn this method; to play back a story through deep body work personal and in relationships. The workshop, with live music, will be based on learning to find the essence of stories thorough physical theatre as a skill. For example, how to use physical space, timing, body contact, what does it mean movement in comparison with pantomime and more…The workshop will be with members of the ensemble and will include a demonstration. Through that we will tell and move to stories about opening doors to movement in our lives, in relationships, in our hearts.

Shirley Legum: M.A in Arts Therapy from Haifa University, B.A in Dance and Dramatic arts from Berkeley University in California, Group therapy from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem and a therapist from the Adler Institute in Israel.

An actress and conductor in "playlife playback company" by Aviva Apple for 15 years. A founder of few playback groups - "Dance story" and "second time around". Leads and teaches playback in Israel and abroad. A member of the Israeli Playback Association and a manager of playback leaders Forum in Israel.
